A written comparison of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and its film adaptation.

Creative responses to text

A re-creation or reworking of an aspect of Picnic at hanging Rock, such as adding to the text or, rewriting an episode in the text from another point of view.
AND
A reflective commentary on the connections between North and South and the creative response.

Literary Perspectives

A written interpretation of the views and values in North and South using two different perspectives to inform the response.

Close Analysis

A written analyses of how the literary features, linkages, parallels and contrasts between different passages contribute to a plausible interpretation of Hippolytus.

Trial Examination

Section A:
An extended analytical essay in response to a statement about the text. Students are required to explore the statement in relation to the text and to literary theory.

Section B:
A written analysis of how the literary features, linkages, parallels and contrasts between different passages contribute to a plausible interpretation of a text.

Each text must be chosen from two different categories (e.g. one from novels and one from plays or one from poetry. That is, you cannot write on two novels or on two plays).
